Children's Literature Festival A Success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On Friday, April 1, Rockhurst University, in cooperation with the Reading Reptile, was host to the Children's portion of the Children's Literature Conference! Hundreds of students from a variety of local schools, ranging from grades 1 to grades 8 had the opportunity to attend and participate in presentation from many different children's book authors, such as Eloise Greenfield, Mary Ann Hoberman, Michael Emberly, and many more!

The children had a blast, enjoying the presentations and our beautiful campus! The elementary school students had a wonderful time serving as the rhythm while Eloise Greenfield performed her poems, and they even got to perform themselves, as volunteers read portions of You Read to Me, I'll Read to You by Mary Ann Hoberman and Michael Emberly.

Also, a great big thanks to all of you Kadelpians that volunteered last Friday to help make the DNA Children's Literature Festival a success!!! Just another way KDP is reaching out to the community!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!

KDP New Member FAQ's

Here's a couple of new member frequently asked questions, just in case you're wondering....

How do I know if I am eligible to become a member of KDP?

If you qualify this semester, you will receive an email notice as well as a letter of invitation in the mail, so be on the lookout!

Once I am invited, how do I become an official member of KDP?

You will be asked to attend a mandatory orientation meeting that will answer many of your questions, then you will attend an initiation banquet (see information above!)

I heard that it costs money to be a member of KDP. Is that true?

Yes, to become a member of KDP, you must bring $45.00 to the initiation. To continue your membership, yearly dues are required also. Please visit the KDP website for more information on what your membership dues cover!

We look forward to seeing all of our new members at the orientation meeting and initiation!
